Modern treatment centers that rely on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotic surgery, telemedicine and automation to improve patient care will continue to grow in importance in the coming years. The American weekly newspaper "Newsweek" lists the 350 smartest hospitals in the world in its "World's Best Smart Hospitals 2026" list. In the ranking, Hannover Medical School (MHH) now appears for the first time in 115th place - as the ninth best smart hospital in Germany and the only one in Lower Saxony.

"MHH wants to meet the global challenges in a resilient way and is positioning itself as a central driving force for future-oriented health research and healthcare," says MHH President Professor Denise Hilfiker-Kleiner. "This fantastic ranking is a great success for the entire MHH and shows that we are successful with our focus on innovation in healthcare. At the same time, the award is also an incentive for us to constantly improve."
